Got scammed out of 70K... is there anything I can do?
BREAKING -- the scam websites (x7) are now offline thanks to the work/complaints from this postTLDR: Don't trust new wallets unless you're 100% sure or you will lose everything First off, Yes - I feel sheepish, yes had I spent more time researching it wouldnt of happened, Yes I realize that I am a moron for letting $70K USD slip out of my hands, so please dont remind me of that, I learned that lesson. The website was legit looking, I trusted it wouldnt come from googles top searches pointing to Reddit which then pointed to a scam from this user > https://www.reddit.com/usejhkansen1 Secondly, I lost my BTC after importing a private key (after I had sent my funds to a new wallet) into a wallet downloaded from electrumbtcp, com (DO NOT GO HERE.) I then transferred my funds BACK into Exodus but mistakenly didn't create a NEW address by clicking the ARROW on the right. This mistake cost me $70K USD. I got into cryptocurrency a few years ago, but not in a heavy sense, just as a merchant accepting BTC. I ran a large minecraft server and a small portion of our user base shopped in BTC back when it was $200-300. While this didn't give me anywhere near the $70K that I lost, it got me started. I then invested what I could into ETH early on and hodl'd it as long as possible. I wouldn't consider myself a "newbie" at trading, investing or mining for awhile. I've done several forked coins and I didn't, in my wildest dreams, think that it'd be a malicious wallet. I've been trained to "Send coins, get the private key - send funds back to newly created address" - I thought thats what I was doing. I know my funds are probably gone forever, I want to know how I can warn others, how I can report this to (whatever? country authorities) as a malicious website. I'm not looking for attention as much as I'm looking for possible help with bringing down this website. https://www.whois.com/whois/electrumbtcp.com For ref heres the wallet that stole my funds: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/address/1EgaeuKXBs1kJGx68JtqhxeDGLsAxkDfbx/ Can I get a upvote for awareness? If you lost BTC and have the (https://www.electrumbtcp.com/download/Electrum-Private-windows-x32-1.0.2.exe) please post it on mediafire and send it to me for evidence/analyzing
Edit 1: I have reported this to the French authorities (Though I am a USA resident I dont think anything will happen with it). I appreciate the kind words.
Edit 2: Any french law enforcement or lawyers that want to help?
Edit 5: should I even bother reporting this to the FBI / police? Will they try to pin me for fraud or something for not reporting buying BTC? (crazy I know but I dont want a double hit here...)
Edit 6: It looks like user (jhkansen1) here on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/usejhkansen1) is alerting everyone to navigate to the scam website. Can I get in contact to find his IP / authorities?https://i.imgur.com/pk0Tw7r.png - it looks like its the same user that scammed people out of BCH and BTG - the same websites that are using the "electrum X . org/com" variables. These scammers seem to be pretty big and unconfronted, which doesnt make me feel good about where things are in the crypto realm.
Edit 7: Friendly and nice advice from an investing group on how to track / what to do:
@Kainzo sorry to hear this. I’m sure you know this information already but watch these wallets carefully (below). They contain all your BTC. Try to see if you can set reminders or notifications on them to monitor activity. These wallets contain all your BTC (they won’t add up to the same amount due to transaction fees). The pattern of the transfers definitely seem programmatic so I doubt you are the only victim. That being said, the scammers are human, too. Not sure if they’ll HODL or want to liquidate in this dip. If they liquidate, then they will either 1) send to an exchange (you’ll be able to identify wallet addresses that are linked to an exchange so keep an eye out for activity) in which case once you notice the activity you should alert the exchange immediately, or 2) they will sell it off locally with a platform like local bitcoins, in which case it will be highly improbable to trace. If it is option 1, if the exchange cooperated with you, then you may be able to retrieve your lost funds. Fiat-to-coin exchanges like Coinbase should be on your side as they are under strict regulation to avoid processing dirty money, and they are well aware of this. I doubt, though, that the scammers will go the online dump route, due to the transparency and risk I just mentioned, but at this point it’s still worth the watch. Even if they go on some other exchange, still contact the exchange immediately. Because in that case they may be trying to transfer out in something like Ethereum, and you will have no way of tracking it once it leaves the exchange.
Edit 8: Another mod from Cosmic Trading on Discord
@Kainzo wallet addresses associated with exchanges will usually be dumped into a central wallet owned by the exchange or some subwallet that is also owned by the exchange, which contains other people’s bitcoin too. If blockchain.info recognizes the address it will display which exchanges wallet it is. If not you can try to google the wallet address you suspect to be and exchange and it should provide some transparency. You can try to alert authorities to identify the user who stole from you but it is unlikely they will be able to do anything about it since the scammer probably resides outside your country and law enforcement only has jurisdiction within, unless your case is escalated to some FBI equivalent in France Even so, it is unlikely they will escalate or prosecute for a financial crime this size. Not saying $70k is small by any means, but the type of cases they deal with are more money laundering to the extent of millions
Edit 9: Someone asked me to post my LTC address (LXzurqezb6PZsnJvoyiYfD5HnzLhFf6nPh)
Edit 10: Going to bed feeling very defeated. Unsure how to push forward in this scene and feeling wholesomely stuck.
Edit 14: Nothing new, I'm talking with Cogent LLC to try and pursue legal action against the phishing host or other avenues. I've written off this loss and I'm using it as a way to better map my future in the coming years.
Edit 15: Contacted the FBI - they basically shrugged it off and sent me to the website. Unlikely /anything/ will come from this but it was worth a shot.
Edit 16: Called my dad, I had 1 BTC of his (the air drop was for him to try and capture more coins for him - it was very emotionally but he said its just money and he loves me, that hit me really hard.)
Edit 17: Someone put together a list of their phishing sites | Here's the list of the phishing websites put together. | electrum-btcp.org who.is electrumgold.org who.is electrum-lcc.org who.is electronbch.org who.is electrumb2x.org who.is They seem to be hosted by this company https://www.shinjiru.com.my
The /r/XboxOne Game Of The Year Awards 2017 - RESULTS!
Seasons greetings /XboxOne! Thankyou once again for an amazing turnout of voters this year! We had a total of 10,103 responses - And upon removing the 6,822 naughty votes from people who thought they could bot the system (tisk tisk) we arrived at the grand total of 3,281 respondents!
A big thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out the survey.
On with the show!! As always - The votes have been counted correctly, altered based on my own personal bias and edited to reflect the juicy bribes I received in bitcoin and anime hug pillows from publishers. Each winner has been given a prestigious and totally not imaginary /XboxOne exclusive "award", and are celebrated below. As a heads up - By their very nature, these awards will contain mild spoilers. You have been warned BEST SHOOTER
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Blasting Nazis, robot dogs and the KKK with death lasers in a fictional alternate reality 1960s America? Whats not to love here?! The man who starred in the very first FPS game as we know them; B.J Blazkowicz returns and sets the record straight on just how the shooter genre is done. BEST RPG
Assassins Creed: Origins
Something of a surprise winner this year - The AC series is not known for its RPG flair, but Ubisoft went back to the drawing board with the newest instalment of the franchise and re-imagined AC as a sprawling, open world RPG set in ancient Egypt. Well done Ubisoft. Despite very strong competition from South Park: The Fractured, But Whole, you managed to take the win! Just don't get comfortable in your seats - I have a feeling we will see you back on the award stage very soon... BEST ACTION/ADVENTURE
Assassins Creed: Origins
And by very soon - I mean right now... Never before have we awarded the Action Adventure AND Role Playing Game trophies to the same game - But then again, never before has a game managed to fuse open-world action, platforming and adventure quite so well into a deep RPG system. Truly a new benchmark for the open world genre, AC:O smashed its second-place rival, Shadow of War by over a thousand votes and adds another feather in its hat. BEST NARRATIVE
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colussus
4 awards given out and only 2 games mentioned. Despite very healthy competition in this award from many games, Wolfenstein 2 managed to narrowly outpace its nearest rival, Prey and take the win. Violent, ridiculous and funny - But also poignant, emotional and surprisingly human. Wolfenstein 2 takes one of the most ridiculous storeys ever told in gaming and makes it feel real. BEST FREE TO PLAY GAME
Fortnite: Battle Royale
This was not even a question in the minds of you guys. Epic's somewhat ahemfamiliar take on the battle royale genre utterly decimated the competition this year. Just goes to show that when your original game idea is tanking, there are much worse things you can do than rebuild your game into cartoony PUBG meets Minecraft. Nice one Epic. BEST SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN
Assassins Creed: Origins
This was a close one! Going head to head with Wolfenstein 2 yet again, the sandy expanses of the assassins creed world were just enough to push it into the winning position, by less than 30 votes! The trials and tribulations of Bayek of Siwa were enough to win award number 3 for Ubisoft this year. BEST MULTIPLAYER
Get ready to drop. Not surprisingly, PUBG wins best multiplayer this year. The Xbox is known as the "shooters console" and PUBG is currently the most popular shooter in the entire world - With a staggering 10%+ of all PC gamers on steam having played it (Making it the 6th most popular PC game in the world). It only makes sense that Xbox gamers would catch PUBG mania as well. Congratulations Bluehole! BEST SPORTS GAME
Oh hey, it's that genre that FIFA wins every year! Football is the worlds most popular sport, so it would only make sense that it would be the most popular sports video game as well. In fact, the only gaming franchise that sells more on console than FIFA is COD. Well done EA. Next year we will ship your award early to save time. BEST DRIVING/RACING GAME
Forza Motorsport 7
Oh hey, it's that genre that Forza wins every year! Seriously though, Forza is the undisputed king of racing games. No other racing game series on any other platform comes close to the quality and frequency of releases that the Forza team manage every year. This year was no exception, with FM7 being used as the poster boy for the Xbox One X 4K, 60FPS HDR miracle. Turn 10 utterly obliterated the competition this year by over THREE THOUSAND votes. Possibly the widest margin of victory we have ever seen. Rekt. BEST PLATFORMER
Let's be real for a second - As a pure platformer, Cuphead is average at best. But in its own genre of "Artistic tour de force bullet hell cross boss rush cross platformer cross dark souls with incredible music" - It has no equal. The blue hedgehog made a come back this year with the incredible Sonic Mania, which did VERY well in votes, but it wasn't even close to knocking the crown off of the cup's head. Well done Studio MDHR. BEST HORROR GAME
Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil is the king of the survival horror genre. After years and years of poorly performing sequels, the team went back to the drawing board and re-designed just what it is that makes a Resident Evil game. Despite changing everything from the setting, to the story, to even the player perspective - RE7 Still somehow managed to feel like Resident Evil. On top of that, it was one of the best horror games released this year. Prey and The Evil Within 2 managed to actually tie for second place, but they must both bow before the king. A true return to form from Capcom. BEST SOUNDTRACK
Possibly by virtue of being one of the most original soundtracks in gaming, Cuphead stunned everyone with its old-timey Big Band and Barbershop soundtrack. Noticeable competition came from Prey, which was composed by Mick Gordon (Who won last year's best soundtrack award for DOOM) and Destiny 2 - But they weren't enough to overcome the originality and awesomeness that was Cuphead's soundtrack. Also worth noting that this song is actually sung by a woman. The incredibly talented Alana Bridgewater. BEST "GAME PREVIEW PROGRAM" (EARLY ACCESS) GAME
Award number two for the innovative new franchise. Despite its technical and performance issues on release, the game is still fun enough for the VAST majority of you to overlook. They earned this particular chicken dinner by over 2 thousand votes. Tasty. BEST SOUND DESIGN
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Despite the controversy surrounding the Battlefront series - There is one thing that nobody of sound mind can ever fault the series, and indeed DICE studios themselves for. Sound Design. The pew pew of the blasters, the whroom of the light sabres and the skreeeeeuummmmm of tie fighters all coming through JUST right. Oh, and who could forget the almighty thermal impolder... BEST GRAPHICS
Assassins Creed: Origins
This game is simply stunning. In 4K HDR on the Xbox One X - There is arguably no better-looking game in existence right now. Incredible texture detail, stunning vistas, built up cities, sweeping sand dunes, a draw distance that stretches to infinity and historical accuracy so legit that you can play the game with an Egyptology book on hand and actually compare visual notes and translate the real hieroglyphics. AC:O is one hell of a pretty game. Battlefront 2 put up a good fight, but it was no match for that Ubisoft magic. THE "SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELAYED" AWARD
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect: Andromeda was, in what is retrospectively the height of irony, delayed more than once by EA who claimed "We’re willing to make moves in launch dates if we feel that it’s necessary to deliver the right player experience" after their first 5-month delay. It seems that wasn't quite enough. Bad characters, Bad Plot, Bad Glitches - The ME Series hit an all-time low with this instalment. Causing such a stir as to have EA gut the entire development team and then to declare that the Mass Effect franchise is to be shelved indefinitely. Ouch... BEST FREE GAME WITH GOLD
Ryse: Son of Rome
We live in a post Pool Nation FX world. Gaming has peaked. Since then we shamble about aimlessly, lost and alone. We make do with what we are given. Ryse: Son of Rome was a launch game for the Xbox One, that Meme'd on this subreddit only second to PNFX. With weekly threads asking for it to be a GWG, Numerous rumours and hoaxes - The madmen finally did it and gave it to us. So that's it. We defeated Microsoft and have no games left to meme... Soldiers without a war. Is there truly a place left for us in this world? Oh, and the game is alright I guess. MOST BANG-ABLE CHARACTER
The "Retry" button - Cuphead
Easily one of the most smashed menu options in recent memory. This filthy harlot was always there, ready for you to fail. You hated yourself for going back to its arms - But it was always there when you needed it. In the back of your mind, you knew this was an abusive relationship, but nobody truly knows you like the Retry button. Every time you press it, you swear to yourself that was the last time. That is until the next time... Also as always, my mother was a strong contender in the "Other" category, as well as MajorNelson and the Puddle Slime from Slime Rancher. PS - My... uhh... friend says thanks for those fursona pictures. MOST HATED CHARACTER
This was a polarising choice. Seemingly Bungie managed to accomplish the impossible by irritating both the hardcore Destiny 1 fanbase AND the casual audience with a cavalcade of "downgrades", controversies and poor press. From being caught stripping down content to be re-sold as microtransactions through to skimming EXP from players - Destiny 2 has not been a smooth ride. Not even Starwars Battlefront 2 came close to the level of regret felt by long-time Bungie fans.... Again... BEST CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE
What is left for me to say here? Cuphead is one of the most original, well executed and highly decorated games of the year. A stunning achievement for indie developers Studio MDHR - They even got props from the prime minister of Canada himself! Congratulations again guys. You crafted a fun and unique game that took the old school and somehow made it new school. A game that no Xbox One owner should be without, Cuphead is a triumph in every sense of the word. OVERALL BEST GAME OF THE YEAR 2017
Assassins Creed: Origins
Another Close one! With Cuphead and Wolfenstein 2 hot on its heels, it was once again Assassins Creed: Origins that managed to edge ahead of the crowd by a MEASLY 82 votes to pick up its 6th award this year - Making it the most highly decorated game in /XboxOne history. Here is what the results looked like: https://i.imgur.com/rnzBiXH.jpg There seems to be no question at all on your minds as to what the essential game of 2017 is for every Xbox One owner. That game is Assassins Creed: Origins. Ubisoft took a year off in order to make the best new AC game they could and it is obvious that that little extra layer of TLC was exactly what the series needed. If you are a fan of action games, platformers, stealth, hack and slash combat, open world exploration, RPG mechanics, loot, crafting or even just a history buff - You owe it to yourself to play this game. Particularly in 4K HDR on the Xbox One X. Congratulations Ubisoft on your first ever big win on the sub! A big thanks to everyone who voted once again! Looking forward to 2018's wild ride! Love - The mod team.
I literally have tens of thousands of dollars in top-shelf hardware, looking to repurpose some before selling on eBay to build a NAS system, possibly a dedicated firewall device as well. o_O
Q1) What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.** A1) This will be a dedicated NAS system for my home network. As such, I'm looking to have it: - Host ##TB's of 720, 1080 & up resolution Movies and TV Shows I'm about to begin ripping from a MASSIVE DVD & Blueray collection I have. - My kids are big on Minecraft. I understand it's possible to host your own "worlds" (or whatever they call the maps you can build) on your own "server". I think it would be pretty neat to offer them (& their friends - if can be done 'safely/securely') their own partition on one of my NAS HDD's. - I also have accounts with a couple diff VPN companies... I understand it's possible (?) to sync said VPN's with a NAS, this might be a more relative topic on the next point/purpose... - I'd like to be able to remotely link to this NAS for when I travel overseas and want to stream at my temp location from my house/this NAS. ______________________ Q2) What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?** * A2) Here's where I make matters more complicated than most others would... I've been an advocate for Bitcoin and crypto-currencies in general since 2013. I invested in a small mining outfit back in 2014 (strictly Bitcoin/ASIC's). One of my buddies is the President of a large-scale mining operation (foreign and domestic) and he convinced me to dabble in the GPU mining-space. I made my first hardware purchase in Q4, 2017 and launched a small-scale GPU-Farm in my house since then. I had the rigs mining up until Q3 of 2018 (not cost-efficient to keep on, especially living in SoFlo) and since then, the hardware's been collecting dust (& pissing off my family members since they lost access to 3X rooms in the house - I won't let anyone go near my gear). One of my New Years Resolutions for 2019 was to clear out the house of all my mining equipment so that's all about to go up on eBay. So "budget" is relative to whatever I "MUST" spend if I can't repurpose any of the parts I already have on hand for this build... (Anyone having something I "need" and is looking to barter for one of the items I'll list later on in here, LMK). ______________________ Q3) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.** A3) IMMEDIATELY! :) ______________________ Q4) What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc\)** A4) Well I had a half-assed idea approximately 1 year ago that it might be wise to build a bunch of 'gaming rigs' to sell on eBay with my intended repurposed mining hardware so I went on a shopping spree for like 6 months. That said; I've got a plethora of various other components that aren't even unboxed yet. 90% of the items I've purchased for this additional project were items that were marked down via MIR (mail-in-rebates) & what-not...
AFAIK, there are only 3X items I absolutely do not have which I 'MUST' find. Those would be - 1) Motherboard which accepts "ECC RAM". 2) CPU for said MOBO. 3) Said "ECC RAM".\*
______________________ Q5) Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?** A5) I'm located in Southwest Florida. No Microcenter's here. Best Buy is pretty much my only option although I am a member of Newegg, Amazon & Costco if that makes any difference? ______________________ Q6) If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.** A6) In an attempt to better clean up this Q&A, I'm going to list the items I have on-hand at the end of this questionnaire in-case passers-by feel like this might be a TLDR.* (Scroll to the bottom & you'll see what I mean). ______________________ Q7) Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?** A7) I don't think that's necessary for my intended purpose although - I'm not against it if that helps & FWIW, I'm pretty skilled @ this task already (it's not rocket science). ______________________ Q8) Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)** A8) As stated in A4; ECC RAM is non-negotiable... RAID seems like a logical application here as well. - This will predominantly be receiving commands from MacOS computers. I don't think that matters really but figured it couldn't hurt to let you guys know.\* - I'd also be quite fond of implementing "PFSENSE" (or something of that caliber) applied to this system so I could give my Netgear Nighthawks less stress in that arena, plus my limited understanding of PFSENSE is that it's ability to act as a firewall runs circles around anything that comes with consumer-grade Wi-Fi routers (like my Nighthawks). Just the same, I'm open to building a second rig just for the firewall.\* - Another desirable feature would be that it draws as little electricity from the wall as possible. (I'm EXTREMELY skilled in this arena. I have "Kill-A-Watts" to test/gauge on, as well as an intimate understanding of the differences between Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium rated PSU's. As well as having already measured each of the PSU's I have on-hand and taken note of the 'target TDP draw' ("Peak Power Efficiency Draw") each one offers when primed with X amount of GPU's when I used them for their original purpose.\* - Last, but not least, sound (as in noise created from the rig). I'd like to prop this device up on my entertainment center in the living room. I've (almost) all of the top-shelf consumer grade products one could dream of regarding fans and other thermal-related artifacts. - Almost forgot; this will be hosting to devices on the KODI platform (unless you guys have better alternative suggestions?) ______________________ Q9) Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?** A9) Definitely! Desired theme would be WHITE. If that doesn't work for whatever reason, black or gray would suffice. Regarding "Case Size". Nah, that's not too important although I don't foresee a mini-ITX build making sense if I'm going to be cramming double digit amounts of TB in the system, Internal HDD's sounds better than a bunch of externals plugged in all the USB ports. ______________________ Q10) Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?** A10) I don't know. If I do need a copy of Windows, I don't have one so that's something I'll have to consider I guess. I doubt that's a necessity though. ______________________ ______________________ ______________________ **Extra info or particulars:*\* AND NOW TO THE FUN-STUFF... Here's a list of everything (PARTS PARTS PARTS) I have on-hand and ready to deploy into the wild &/or negotiate a trade/barter with: CASES - Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 Arctic White (Model# Crypto-Currency-9011048-WW) - (Probably my top pick for this build). Although, I'm sure there would be better suited components if I get to that point that probably won't cost all that much). ______________________ ______________________ ______________________ Needless to say, I have at least 1X of everything mentioned above. In most all cases, I have multiples of these items but obviously won't be needing 2X CPU's, Cases, etc... Naturally, I have GPU's. Specifically; At least 1X of every. Single. NVIDIA GTX 1070 TI (Yes, I have every variation of the 1070 ti made by MSI, EVGA and Zotac. The only brand I don't have is the Gigabyte line. My partners have terrible experience with those so I didn't even bother. I'm clearly not going to be needing a GPU for this build but again, I'm cool with discussing the idea of a barter if anyone reading this is in the market for one. I also have some GTX 1080 TI's but those are already spoken for, sorry. It's my understanding that select CPU's I have on this list are ECC Friendly and AFAIK, only 1 of my MOBO's claims to be ECC Friendly (The ASROCK AB350M PRO4), but for the life of me, I can't find any corresponding forums that confirm this and/or direct me to a listing where I can buy compatible RAM. Just the same, if I go w/ the ASROCK MOBO, that means I'd be using one of the Ryzens. Those are DEF. power hungry little buggers. Not a deal-breaker, just hoping to find something a little more conservative in terms of TDP. In closing, I don't really need someone to hold my hand with the build part as much as figuring out which motherboard, CPU and RAM to get. Then I'm DEFINITELY going to need some guidance on what OS is best for my desired purpose. If building 2X Rigs makes sense, I'm totally open to that as well... Rig 1 = EPIC NAS SYSTEM Rig 2 = EPIC PFSENSE (or the like) DEDICATED FIREWALL Oh, I almost forgot... The current routers I'm using are... 1X Netgear Nighthawk 6900P (Modem + Router) 1X Netgear Nighthawk X6S (AC 4000 I believe - Router dedicated towards my personal devices - no IoT &/or Guests allowed on this one) 1X TP-Link Archer C5 (Router). Total overkill after implementing the Nighthawks but this old beast somehow has the best range, plus it has 2X USB ports so for now, it's dedicated towards my IoT devices. ---- I also have a few other Wi-Fi routers (Apple Airport Extreme & some inferior Netgear's but I can only allocate so many WiFi Routers to so many WiFi channels w/out pissing off my neighbors) On that note, I have managed to convince my neighbors to let me in their house/WiFi configuration so we all have our hardware locked on specific, non-competing frequencies/channels so everyone's happy. :) Please spare me the insults as I insulted myself throughout this entire venture. Part of why I did this was because when I was a kid, I used to fantasize about building a 'DREAM PC' but could never afford such. To compensate for this deficiency, I would actually print out the latest and greatest hardware components on a word document, print the lists up & tape to wall (for motivation). I was C++ certified at the age of 14 and built my first PC when I was 7. At the age of 15 I abandoned all hope in the sector and moved on to other aspirations. This entire ordeal was largely based off me finally fulfilling a childhood fantasy. On that note = mission accomplished. Now if I'm actually able to fulfill my desires on this post, I'm definitely going to feel less shitty about blowing so much money on all this stuff over the last couple years. TIA for assisting in any way possible. Gotta love the internets! THE END. :) EDIT/UPDATE (5 hours after OP) - My inbox is being inundated with various people asking for prices and other reasonable questions about my hardware being up for sale. Not to be redundant but rather to expound on my previous remarks about 'being interested in a bartetrade' with any of you here... I did say I was going to sell my gear on eBay in the near future, I also said I wanted to trade/barter for anything relative to helping me accomplish my OP's mission(s). I'm not desperate for the $$$ but I'm also not one of those people that likes to rip other people off. That said; I value my time and money invested in this hardware and I'm only willing to unload it all once I've established I have ZERO need for any of it here in my home first. Hence my writing this lengthy thread in an attempt to repurpose at least a grand or two I've already spent. One of the most commonly asked questions I anticipate receiving from interested bodies is going to be "How hard were you on your hardware?" Contrary to what anyone else would have probably done in my scenario which is say they were light on it whether they were or weren't, I documented my handling of the hardware, and have no problem sharing such documentation with verified, interested buyers (WHEN THE TIME COMES) to offer you guys peace of mind. I have photo's and video's of the venture from A-Z. I am also obliged to provide (redacted) electricity bill statements where you can correlate my photo's (power draw on each rig), and also accurately deduct the excess power my house consumed with our other household appliances. Even taking into consideration how much (more) I spent in electricity from keeping my house at a constant, cool 70-72F year-round (via my Nest thermostat). Even without the rigs, I keep my AC @ 70 when I'm home and for the last 1.5-2 years, I just so happened to spend 85% of my time here at my house. When I would travel, I'd keep it at 72 for my wife & kids. Additionally; I had each GPU 'custom' oveunderclocke'd (MSI Afterburner for all GPU's but the EVGA's).* I doubt everyone reading this is aware so this is for those that don't.... EVGA had the brilliant idea of implementing what they call "ICX technology" in their latest NVIDIA GTX GPU's. The short(est) explanation of this "feature" goes as follows: EVGA GPU's w/ "ICX 9 & above" have EXTRA HEAT/THERMAL SENSORS. Unlike every other GTX 1070 ti on the market, the one's with this feature actually have each of 2/2 on-board fans connected to individual thermal sensors. Which means - if you were to use the MSI Afterburner program on one of these EVGA's and create a custom fan curve for it, you'd only be able to get 1/2 of the fans to function the way intended. The other fan simply would not engage as the MSI Afterburner software wasn't designed/coded to recognize/ communicate with an added sensor (let alone sensor'S). This, in-turn, would likely result in whoever's using it the unintended way having a GPU defect on them within the first few months I'd imagine... Perhaps if they had the TDP power settings dumbed down as much as I did (60-63%), they might get a year or two out of it since it wouldn't run as near as hot, but I doubt any longer than that since cutting off 50% of the cooling system on one of these can't be ignored too long, surely capacitors would start to blow and who knows what else... (Warning = RANT) Another interesting side-note about the EVGA's and their "Precision-X" OveUnderclocking software is that it's designed to only recognize 4X GPU's on a single system. For miners, that's just not cool. My favorite builds had 8X and for the motherboards that weren't capable of maintaining stable sessions on 8, I set up with 6X. Only my EVGA Rigs had 3 or 4X GPU's dedicated to a single motherboard. Furthermore, and as stated in an earlier paragraph, (& this is just my opinion) = EVGA SOFTWARE SUCKS! Precision X wasn't friendly with every motherboard/CPU I threw at it and their extension software for the CLC Close-Loop-Cooling/ CPU water-coolers simply didn't work on anything, even integrating into their own Precision-X software. The amount of time it took me to finally find compatible matches with that stuff was beyond maddening. (END RANT). Which leads me to my other comments on the matter. That's what I had every single 1070 ti set at for TDP = 60-63%. Dropping the power load that much allowed me to bring down (on average) each 1070 ti to a constant 110-115W (mind you, this is only possible w/ "Titanium" rated PSU's, Platinum comes pretty damn close to the Titanium though) while mining Ethereum and was still able to maintain a bottom of 30 MH/s and a ceiling of 32 MH/s. Increasing the TDP to 80, 90, 100% or more only increased my hashrates (yields) negligibly, like 35-36 MH/s TOPS, which also meant each one was not only pulling 160-180W+ (Vs. the aforementioned 115'ish range), it also meant my rigs were creating a significantly greater amount of heat! Fortunately for the GPU's and my own personal habits, I live in South Florida where it's hot as balls typically, last winter was nothing like this one. Increasing my yields by 10-15% didn't justify increasing the heat production in my house by >30%, nor the added electricity costs from subjecting my AC handlers to that much of an extra work-load. For anyone reading this that doesn't know/understand what I'm talking about - after spending no less than 2-3 hours with each. and. every. one. I didn't play with the settings on just one and universally apply the settings to the rest. I found the 'prime' settings and documented them with a label-maker and notepad. Here's the math in a more transparent manner: *** I NEVER LET MY GPU's BREACH 61C, EVER. Only my 8X GPU rigs saw 60-61 & it was the ones I had in the center of the build (naturally). I have REALLY high power fans (used on BTC ASIC MINERS) that were sucking air from those GPU's which was the only way I was able to obtain such stellar results while mining with them. **\* Mining at "acceptable" heat temps (not acceptable to me, but most of the internet would disagree = 70C) and overclocking accordingly brings in X amount of yields per unit. = 'Tweaking' (underclocking) the GPU's to my parameters reduced my yield per unit from -10-15%, but it SAVED me well over 30-35% in direct electricity consumption, and an unknown amount of passive electricity consumption via creating approximately 20%+ less heat for my AC handler to combat. I say all this extra stuff not just for anyone interested in mining with their GPU's, but really to answer (in-depth) the apparent questions you people are asking me in PM's. Something else that should help justify my claims of being so conservative should be the fact I only have/used "Platinum and Titanium" rated PSU's. Heat production, power efficiency and longevity of the hardware were ALWAYS my top priority.* . I truly thought Crypto would continue to gain and/or recover and bounce back faster than it did. If this project had maintained positive income for 12 months+, I'd have expanded one of our sites to also cater to GPU mining on a gnarly scale. Once I have my NAS (& possibly 2nd rig for the firewall) successfully built, I'll be willing/able to entertain selling you guys some/all of the remaining hardware prior to launching on eBay. If there's something you're specifically looking for that I listed having, feel free to PM me with that/those specific item(s). Don't count on an immediate response but what you can count on is me honoring my word in offering whoever asks first right of refusal when the time comes for me to sell this stuff. Fortunately for me, PM's are time-stamped so that's how I'll gauge everyone's place in line. I hope this extra edit answers most of the questions you guys wanted to have answered and if not, sorry I guess. I'll do my best to bring light to anything I've missed out on after I realize whatever that error was/is. The only way anyone is getting first dibs on my hardware otherwise is if they either offer compelling insight into my original questions, or have something I need to trade w/. THE END (Round#2)

I am going to make a few additions to my daily report as of tomorrow or Thursday. Instead of solely having a moonshot that is highlighted, I am going to have 1 Moonshot (if there is one out there), 1 or 2 January Plays (highest volume, highest % gainers), and a new category for the day trader. Many want a coin they can trade on 20% swings regularly while tracking charts. I will find us moonshots, day trading coins, January investments, and even long term investments (for those who want to HOLD for 2 months +). It is unfortunate the market is red today, and was yesterday. The good news is red market days make for super cheap alts! Today would be the day to add FIAT and stock up on these coins priced 10-20% lower than they were yesterday! The best part of an alt, is they overcorrect in response to the market and news. We may be down slightly today, but the growth when the market is green will be compounded. Make sure to buy moonshots (and all other coins) during dips when possible and during red days like today. Not everyone cares what’s going on in the market, but I figured I’d explain why we are experiencing 2 back to back red days leading up to the biggest 9 weeks of conferences in blockchain history. Within 2 weeks we have the North American BTC Conference, in Miami, and that same week the London Blockchain Summit. The market should be as bullish as ever (and will be in 2-3 days if not tomorrow). However, what is going on right now? There are 2 major events impacting blockchain negatively in Asia right now. There is a “lockout” of sorts in South Korea as they get their regulation in order and taxation underway. This caused a minor panic in the Korean market. This was the main factor contributing to yesterday’s red day, the Korean’s trade more than anyone and now they are in a holding pattern until Jan 20th. However, once their trading opens back up fully between now and then there should be an exponential price increase in all alts. The second issue impacting the markets is China hinting at regulating BTC mining. This doesn’t surprise me as most countries with a very low cost of electricity ban BTC mining. However, these two pieces of news, which will be resolved shortly, dramatically impacted the value of BTC and alts over the last 24hrs. I figured the Kingdom needed an update to why the market was so red the last 24hrs! What is even more surprising is not a red market day with bad news from Asia, but the fact that almost every Moonshot is in the green or plateud instead of dropping like the other 95% of the market! So let’s get to it, KuCoin’s Moonshot! Moonshot picks have been released earlier than on Reddit via Discord or Twitter(make sure to follow!). Remember always buy in dips, never in frenzied spikes! Today’s Moonshot KuCoin Pick: EVX Referral link for KuCoin: https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=1cH1M Individuals that aren’t only traders and investors in the blockchain/crypto world understand valuable tech. They understand the purpose of what blockchain was supposed to do with governments and financial institutions. BTC was created (anonymously) following the 2008 market crash (housing, stock, etc). The populations of the world were too reliant on debt laden governments and private national banks. Underprivileged people around the world had no access to money because private banks and governments did not care to provide small loans or to care for the most impoverished people. From here coins like EVX are born! EVX fills multiple niches that other coins with a market cap 10x its size on 3 large exchanges do. EVX ensures you can use foreign currencies to directly buy EVX coins (in case you didn’t want to use crypto) directly from their wallet platform. They allow instant money transfer across borders specializing in micro loans to underdeveloped parts of the world. They provide direct payments and lending services at a fraction of the cost of other blockchain companies. EVX combines the benefits of 4 or 5 of the top 20 cryptocurrencies. EVX is a payment platform, lending platform, money transfer service, and foreign currency exchange specifically designed for the underprivileged and underbanked. With a market cap of $98million as I’m writing this I fully expect it to appreciate to above $200million following the market correction from the negative Asia news. Many coins on exchanges are working on their Alpha or Beta version of their platform, EVX has its platforms working, it’s coins being exchanged, and is looking to land on a bigger exchange. While unheard of amounts of $ are flooded into KuCoin, coins like EVX should begin to moon immediately following the market correction. I expect EVX and PURA (yesterday’s pick) to join our list of Moonshot winners as we approach the conferences, and as the market over corrects to yesterday’s news. Until yesterday we were officially 6/6 on KuCoin picks. None of the KuCoin picks have even shown signs of pulling back even during these terrible 2 days for the general crypto market. The play for today is EVX, I’d get in while it is on sale due to this lovely China and Korea news. Regarding moonshots that have already entered the outer atmosphere…KCS will continue its dominance as KuCoin is one of the few exchanges accepting new traders. Another very positive thing for us KuCoin early entrants is that Binance and Bittrex have suspended allowing new traders. That means guys like you are flocking to alternative exchanges (like KuCoin) to get involved in the crypto world. KuCoin has increased their daily volume every single day for the past 2-week, their twitter eagerly displays this info, and they updated their servers to handle significantly higher trading capacity. More money flowing into altcoins means the market caps will increase accordingly. Look for our moons to continue mooning. Remember moonshots are NOT to be day traded, they will likely end up on major exchanges which is when they will have their true moon. You could have made 70-100% on DRGN, BNTY, or KCS my first week posting moonshots, but if you held them, you would have made 600%. I have increased my portfolio % in moonshots as they’ve been outperforming all other sectors of crypto. This allows me to HOLD while still finding new moonshots! Remember Princes and Princesses of the KINGDOM HOLD through the red day. The reason our moonshots haven’t dropped in value is the whole KINGDOM is not selling. I am proud you’ve all lost your training wheels and grown an impressive set of cojones (in 2 weeks!). EVX is the undervalued moonshot for today! PURA is a coin predominantly traded on KuCoin and my pick from yesterday! It’s trading at 4300 Satoshis at 10am (as I am writing this), I expect 5500-8000 Satoshis to be approached if not surpassed by the end of the week (depending on when the market corrects to the Asia news). There are minimal sell walls and this one should be off to the races once a few big buyers are holding. In September PURA updated their systems to have INSTAPAY, PRIVATEPAY, MASTERNODES and FAIRMINING. Unlike the ridiculously slow BTC, ETH and LTC network PURA lets you send coins instantly (seconds literally). This is what makes INSTAPAY so impressive. What about Privatepay? It lets you send the crypto using a private wallet. MASTERNODES allow anyone to mine PURA on their computer creating a larger PURA network. With a wallet already out, a mining platform set up, one of the smallest market caps on KuCoin (98million), and ways to send crypto instantly and privately I expect PURA to rival many of the larger cap coins. If PURA makes it to a larger exchange I see an easy 3x here. If PURA hits $1billion as a market cap which is very achievable within months of arriving at a larger exchange this coin will be a 10xer. Finding coins that can appreciate 10x with an exchange listing and minimal news is a very difficult thing to find. PURA may be with the company of DRGN, BNTY and KCS, time will tell. SNOV was my pick 2 days ago and it appreciated nicely. It is still a favorite of mine with room to grow. Their calendar shows a very VERY active January and I expect the publicity to continue to increase the coin’s market cap. Yes, we’ve all experienced a nice gain and I always follow my rule, pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. However, we have to compare SNOV to other recent moonshots. Anyone who has sold a moonshot to date has lost out as my first 4 picks KCS, BNTY, and DRGN are up the highest %s. This demonstrates that HOLDING is as important as monitoring important times to buy and sell. I’ve added $$ (well BTC) to KuCoin as the opportunities here are much more significant than on Binance and Bittrex with new $$ and traders flowing in and new coins being listed regularly there are endless possibilities. 3 days ago money flooded into BTC as you could see in the BTC price rise. I predicted this 48hrs prior that institutional money would get involved within the next 72hrs, and we had our 20% BTC price climb. What happens immediately following a BTC price climb? The alts respond! I expect SNOV, PURA, and EVX (today’s!) to all respond more significantly to the market rise because unlike BNTY they have yet to have their 700% price climb. EVX is my moonshot for today with a likely correction to the on sale prices occurring this afternoon. PURA should have one of the highest return rates in the next 72hrs when compared to alternatives on KuCoin. However, SNOV should continue to trend north as new traders flock to KuCoin snapping up cheap shares. BNTY should continue its rise as it gets added to a new exchange and provides actual bounties for digital tasks (so cool!). DRGN is not left to die by Disney and is leading the charge to get on Binance (they also have a production deal coming up!). I am extremely bullish on DRGN even at a 400% increase this week. I expect a Disney associated press release in the next few weeks and a new exchange listing. KCS will win because it is one of the few exchanges still accepting new traders, AND they give 90% of the trade commission back to KCS holders and as referrals. This type of referral and KCS dividend is unheard of in exchange marketplaces. DBC is downright amazing, combining AI and the blockchain (not to mention its going on Huobi this week!). The moonshots have all increased, yes, but a moon is not a 70% increase. HOLD (and accumulate EVX!). Tomorrow we will have another moonshot (possibly released at 6am EST on Discord/Twitter) as the market has left many coins underpriced currently. Something we should all be taking advantage of to the best of our ability. KuCoin has outperformed all other areas of crypto in the last 2 weeks, I’ve increased my % of portfolio holdings in KuCoin accordingly because of this. I have a higher risk tolerance than most but seek the highest returns. Your decisions are for you to make! EVX is the KuCoin pick for today! Now that most people’s favorite section is finished let’s discuss ICOs! Crypterium and Covesting met their hard caps :/ but the good news is most of you were involved in these ICOs. When an ICO meets its hard cap it is clear there was significant interest and a greater likelihood of mooning immediately after exchange listing. Both the two I am now presenting I expect to reach hard caps in the coming weeks. ICO 1: KYC Legal: KYC Legal (please use the referral as I make no $ spending countless hours researching these ICOs and coins ) referral: https://bookbuild.kyc.legal/?ref=23734776ffa2051a83eb8bc1 The first I am presenting is a new favorite of mine because of the all so dreaded KYC form. Know Your Customer. If you’ve completed an ICO recently you know the form I’m talking about. The form they give you at the end, after you’ve sent your .5eth but before they will release their tokens. Basically stating you understand this market is unregulated, etc. Well a blockchain token has in essence solved this problem. I HATE KYC forms and if the KYC system was set up in a way in which you wouldn’t have to fill out that form repeatedly for every ICO it would be more convenient for all investors and ICO companies. KYC Legal intends to do just that. According to the founder DR, “This is a simple and quick way to complete client identification procedures, which can then be used to verify the client’s identity during various financial operations (so-called KYC (“know your customer”) requirements that financial institutions and companies working with the money of private individuals use to identify and verify counterparties before starting a financial transaction). This niche is completely untapped and I HATE KYC forms enough to think this is a brilliant idea. They are calling it a “Universal alternative to Personal IDs,” on the block chain. Brilliant concept and there are 2 days left to receive the 38% discount from the final price. A 38% gain prior to token sale completion is significant, imagine what will happen when the hard cap is reached and it hits the first exchange. KYC Legal: https://bookbuild.kyc.legal/?ref=23734776ffa2051a83eb8bc1 ICO 2: HOQU Referral: https://www.hoqu.io/?ref_id=7e8ace30413be0fe224fa60d3e57868f According to HOQU directly, “HOQU is a decentralized affiliate platform combining the performance-marketing model with blockchain technology. The aim of the project is to create a decentralized ecosystem, which will be used to build CPA services, ranging from affiliate programs to affiliate networks and related products. HOQU integrates advertisers, networks and affiliates into a single platform, significantly reducing the financial costs for all market participants.” Currently we have decentralized markets for advertisers, networks, and affiliates, HOQU intends to combine all 3 into one platform on the blockchain. This satisfies the need to fulfill a niche market. Not to mention their team is exceptionally active posting on twitter and doing shows across the U.S., currently at a crypto convention in Las Vegas. This is an active team (not a scam hiding in Eastern Europe or Asia) with a niche implementable platform. I see this being a true moon candidate following listing on an exchange! Please use my referral, thank you: https://www.hoqu.io/?ref_id=7e8ace30413be0fe224fa60d3e57868f All below information has been updated on Tuesday at 10am EST. This will help individuals follow what information has been repeated/edited. Favorite coins for January: NEO, ICX, and STRAT (described below in greater detail) Update on XVG: For all of those that chewed me out for picking it and saying Wraith would be successful, have you seen the news? The coin price? Wraith has been finalized and XVG is over 1400 Satoshis when it was trading in the 800 range 1 week ago. I guess the DEV team although slow, did fulfill their promise. I held onto a portion of my XVG as I never truly lost faith. That was a good move! ENJ released their wallet and it looks great, unfortunately the release came on the only red market day this month . I expect ENJ to recover nicely directly following the overall alt market correction. Their wallet debut was successful and their Minecraft plugin is approaching quickly! My 3 favorite short term plays based on conferences for the next 2 weeks are: WAVES, ARK, and SONM. These 3 are all at events in the next 2 weeks of January (Waves and ARK are at a conference in Miami I will be attending!). The cost of attendance to these conferences start at $1,000 (I will need tips to cover costs !). However, they provide exposure to the top individuals and founders of coins with billions of dollars in market cap. In comparison to other coins speaking at the largest January events WAVES, ARK, and SONM’s price has not appreciated this week in correlation to the others. They are also the smallest market cap coins presenting at these huge conferences. This provides an opportunity to purchase WAVES, ARK, and SONM at an undervalued price. As their conferences in mid-January approach I expect their price to trend north rapidly, peaking on the day of, or day after the conference. These should be focal points if you shy away from moonshots (which you shouldn’t!). NEO (BUY and HOLD), is an important hold (and accumulate) in all portfolios as it is hands down the Asian Ether. NEO has one of the biggest January’s of any coin and is up over 70% since I recommended it originally. NEO has meetups in Dublin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and London the first two weeks of January. Everyone sees the upcoming calendar and realizes the next 2 months will provide more exposure than any 12-month period in crypto history. NEO is the latest addition to the buy and HOLD list. They end the month of January speaking at 2 of the largest blockchain conferences in the world. This will be one of the strongest plays for January 2018. I would slowly stock up on this one on dips (especially on days like today!). TRX (BUY) TRX has a game coming out this month and I expect it to continue to trend North as one of Binance’s cheapest options with a monetized game on the horizon. I do not know if you played Cryptokitties but it crashed the Ether network. TRX is a much faster and less expensive network to process information on. I expect the game this month to be the second that monetizes gaming through cryptocurrency leading to TRX’s short term success. I’d expect another 100-300% returns leading up to the release of a game on their TRX platform. STRAT (BUY and HOLD). I truly love talking about this coin. I enjoy my % returns on moonshots but this tech, the team, the coin, and especially the 1-month vision I truly believe in. I have an interesting update!!! STRAT is developing a Breeze wallet with Tumblebit which makes Bitcoin transactions private through the STRAT network. The biggest problems with BTC is its transparency and its speed. STRAT will help alleviate the transparency aspects for those who want to conceal how much they send/receive. A wallet that manages to conceal your BTC holdings (makes it similar to privacy coins). STRAT’s money for advertising has been saved with the anticipation of a high volume publicity campaign upon release of their new wallet and ICO platform. Once funds are spent advertising the STRAT ICO platform, their 2 flagships are announced, and their wallet is functional (all happening this month) I expect the price not only to trend north but more than double if not triple. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 100%-300% returns on a fairly safe crypto investment (normally the riskiest coins provide this monthly). Their twitter confirmed the 2 ICOs coming out in the next few weeks, when the official announcement is made we are looking at 100-200% gains. STRAT is on the cusp of being able to host ICO’s for other companies. This is extremely valuable technology and they’ve announced it will be ready to go this week. Would anyone like to know the going rate of an ICO? 20-40BTC. Per ICO these small companies and their coin holders are making $250k-$600k at the current BTC prices. This is a very big business. They’ve also announced 2 Flagship ICOs that will be available on their STRATIS network in January. The platform to host ICOs goes live this week, and within 2 weeks we find out which ICOs STRAT is hosting, then their wallet and advertising rollout. This should be a very positive 2 weeks for STRAT. As the crypto market continues to expand, the need for new ICO platforms will expand as well. This is my safest, favorite coin for January. They are also extremely active on their Twitter updating and hinting at the 2 flagship ICO launches, this type of hype building increases market cap! ICX (BUY and HOLD) ICX has had about a 50% run this week and continued to perform yesterday. This is again a good opportunity as it dipped, as the whole market did, to buy as I am still very bullish on this coin. The price will trend north until the end of the month where the blast off will occur. The Koreans love this little coin so much it is hosting its first blockchain conference in the tallest building in Seoul at the end of January. This will be enormous exposure for a coin which Koreans are already in love with. Their mainnet although once delayed was promised to be released prior to their January conference. Based on big news and Asian trading volume this should continue to trend North. Asians trade more than Americans. Koreans are the highest volume trading country in Asia, and they happen to love ICX. ICX should continue to trend north leading up to their conference in the end of January. This is an accumulate on dips until the January 25th conference. I am not sure we will see many more dips unless BTC has a run to 25k but continue to accumulate, this should trend north toward $20 by the end of January. TNB (BUY) Although the price has increased almost daily there is good reason for it! TNB has a BETA version of the Android and IOS wallet being released this month. This is one of the few coins that didn’t take a beating yesterday. Being able to take your funds with you is exceptionally important. Having a good looking interface is equally important. TNB looks to accomplish both tasks this month. It is also one of the cheapest coins on Binance, a plus for those looking for cheap coin acquisitions! I like TNB as a cheap Binance coin with truly significant potential. POWR(BUY), is a semi-finalist in an event Today. If they become a finalist the publicity will be enormous. We will find out later this evening how POWR did at their contest. This is a strong coin to own for the next 48hrs. This event should provide plenty of exposure for one of the few ICOs supported by a government (Australia). A county that struggles with power grid failure could succeed in implementing the first cryptocurrency related directly to trading power, electricity on the blockchain. I expect a strong 2 weeks from POWR. Expect to see significant returns in the next 72hrs especially if they are not only a semi-finalist but make the finalist list! ARDR(BUY) Honestly, Bittrex is beginning to frustrate me (as I’m sure you too!). I haven’t received my IGNIS and ARDR has been unable to be sold, bought, or transferred in weeks. I recommend moving $ to KuCoin and enjoying these insane %s. However, currently like many of you I have a large holding in ARDR which I still believe strongly in but would like the opportunity to sell if I choose! Their platform successfully launched Jan 1st. All those NXT you’ve been holding for the free IGNIS are used specifically on the ARDR block chain. With a new platform and coins to be used on it this will be a positive week for ARDR with exceptionally high returns correlated with the new platform and IGNIS’s continued appreciation. I believe ARDR and its new network will experience positive publicity and a successful launch of IGNIS. I would continue to buy and hold as the ARDR network gets rolling. XEM(BUY), They had their pop 2 days ago and has since decreased with the rest of the market!! Each coin has a specific reason for their being undervalued. Catapult, which is version 2.0 of NEM is to be released very soon. There is nothing better to build awareness and test out their new Catapult network they’ll be releasing this week, then a worldwide hackathon and a new update to their NEM network. XEM will have a pop this week when Catapult goes live, followed by a 4-week awareness rally driven by a worldwide hackathon. ADX (BUY), has had an impressive run but taken a recent dip. It remains a favorite of mine for multiple reasons. One of my favorite parts about ADX is they have a profitable platform already for coin holders. This is essential for every coin. Without a platform for a functioning coin, the coin is just unique code using up electricity. ADX advertised space on EasyJet boarding passes successfully last month and now is selling over 1 million more advertising spaces. This is a profitable coin with a strong future already occurring. ADX wins because NEO wins, Asian markets enjoy trading even more than the U.S. currently. This trend should continue as ADX continues its trend north. Their next partnership or announcement will lead to the next big pop in price, but as far as a coin goes, this is a safe option with stable returns that has a functioning and profitable platform. Digibyte (DGB) - Buy Digibyte is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, launched in January 2014. It is similar to Bitcoin in that it is a UTXO-based cryptocurrency that is mined using Proof of Work, but unlike Bitcoin it has many distinctive advantages over its predecessor. First of all, Digibyte is a more secure network because one can mine Digibyte with 5 different algorithms. Each algorithm averages out to mine 20% of new blocks which allows for greater decentralization and further protection from a 51% attacks because the attacker would need 51% control on each algorithm. Second of all, the network was designed with speed and scalability in mind. A new Digibyte block is mined every 15-18 seconds vs 10 minutes for Bitcoin. In order to combat issues with scalability, Digibyte was the first cryptocurrency to implement SegWit which limited the sizes of blocks making the ledger more compact. The combination of SegWit and fast block times has led to a through put of 280 transaction per second, which is significantly faster than Bitcoin’s 8 transactions per second. The Digibyte Foundation has made it explicitly clear that they plan to reach Visa’s 2000 transactions per second in the future. Despite this great technological advantage, Digibyte has not gained a lot of traction. There are a few reasons for this. In 2016, the company was focused on a product called Digibyte Gaming, which was a platform that rewarded gamers with Digibytes for playing their free to play games. Once players earn enough Digibytes, they could use their digital tokens to purchase real assets on Digibyte market. Digibyte worked with top games such as League of Legends, Counterstrike Source, and Minecraft but never had a proven business model that worked. Digibyte Gaming was eventually shut down in 2017. Many folks were not aware of this initiative because of the lack of marketing done on behalf of the company. They have been relatively humble as compared to their boisterous counterparts in the space so many did not know about Digibyte. The company has made public outreach and objective this year and has been mildly successful with its Digibytes for Venezuala donation campaign. Additionally, the token has seen an increase in volumes and liquidity thanks to high profile listings such as on Bittrex and a fiat pair on Abra. Upcoming listings include Kucoin (Nov 6th), Bit-Z (Nov 16) and OKEx (Dec 25). Although these listings should see the price of Digibyte increase relative to BTC, fiat listings will be real key to a mooning Digibyte price. Finally, although previous ventures in the gaming space failed, Digibyte has a track record in an industry with high potential. It would be interesting to see if Digibyte can come up with an additional way to cooperate with gaming. ICON (ICX) – HODL If Digibyte is most closely related to Bitcoin, ICON is most closely related to Ethereum. In fact, it is being touted as the Ethereum of South Korea. They aim to be the blockchain of blockchains. Two things make ICON very appealing from an investment standpoint. The first is their founding team. ICON was founded by Dayli Financial group, one of the largest fintech companies in South Korea that own over 25 companies under their umbrella. Dayli Financial Group also owns CoinOne exchange, a top 75 exchange by volume on Coin Market Cap. The actual team behind ICON consists of 50 well individuals across many disciplines including Marketing, Engineering and Artifical Intelligence. In addition to the team behind ICON, what makes ICON a high potential investment is the list of partners. ICON is supported by top crypto funds such as Pantera Capital and Kinetic Capital, and also have a partnership with Crypto Bazaar, the largest crypto community of Russian Speaking countries. As per a recent survey by CoinDesk, Eastern Europeans are one of the most exposed and knowledgeable about cryptocurrency. Antoher exciting partnership ICON has is with Line, one of the largest messaging services in the world. Although partnerships and a strong team are important, the single largest driver of price for ICON will be whether or not it will be used for capital markets. Because of the similarities with Ethereum, the key to the rise in the price of Icon will be the level of capital markets activity. In the US, ICOs are practically dead, however ICOs continue to remain active in the rest of the world. If a supportive regulatory framework for ICO activity came out in South Korea, ICON would certainly moon. Another investment case for ICON is distributed applications. I am very bearish on the idea of distributed applications because I don’t think there is enough of an incentive mechanism for anyone to create a distributed application. The reason why Uber and AirBnb created and manage their network is because they are getting compensated for it. If there is no middle man, why maintain this network? Additionally, I feel that it is important to have a middle man in these transactions that can guarantee that nothing will go wrong. For instance, AirBnb guarantees that your house won’t be ruined. Uber guarantees your ride will be the shortest. If it’s a decentralized p2p system, who can the consumer complain to? These fundamental questions have seen the crypto community turn away from Decentralized applications and has seen the price of Ethereum suffer. Despite these warnings, given the price that ICON is trading at, I feel there is enough potential to justify HODLing the currency. The main catalyst to look out for is the development of the regulatory framework in South Korea. Any negative or positive legal developments will have a dramatic affect on the price of all Korean cryptocurrencies, including ICON.
I'd prolly undo the amount of AWP whoring in CS. I'm not a huge fan of the way the matches would evolve into a snipe fest. I feel sniping is something that needs to be kept in check or else it will restrict the flow of the firefights.
Gabe is a great thinker and someone who's not afraid to take chances. I really fortunate that I was able to work under him. Yes, he's a very amicable person in real life in spite of the fact that he has a room full of knives...
Yea, I did all the modeling/ animation/ coding for CS up until CS Beta 7.
I used 3dsmax for the modeling/animation Photoshop for the texture work.
Never got into milkshape as I was so used to 3dsmax workflow.. The first modeling program I used was Quark Army Knife. That thing was sooo archaic. I had to plot each vertice 1 by 1. It took me 2 months to model an M-16.
To be honest, I never really got into the E-Sports scene that much. My time with counter-strike was mainly spent playing on public servers with some of my mates. Having seen the E-Sports community evolve around CS is really amazing though when I set out to design CS, it was never the goal to make it an E-Sports game. I guess it evolved naturally through the hard work of others who saw the potential to make it an E-sport game.
AFAIK, as the negative aspects of E-Sports. I find designing games to strictly cater to E-sports limits some of the design decisions you can make. For example, making assymetrical gameplay is a big no-no in E-Sports.
Awesome man! Always great to see how CS can build relationships like this. It always nice to hear about these things instead of hearing about news about players stabbing or killing each in real life because of CS.
No, never. I keep a low profile and I think only once in my life did I get recognized "on the street". I was shopping at a Club Monaco and one of the sales people recognized me from an interview I did on tv. That was 10 years ago and my face has changed a lot so I doubt it'll happen again unless I murder someone and end up on CNN.
The acquisition for CS was extremely hazardous and involved meeting Gabe Newell and his krew underneath a bridge at midnight. We both drove our own vans and I instructed Gabe to pull up closer and park his van underneath the bridge. As his van slowly approached the designated spot, I got out and walked towards it. As I got within 50 ft. The van suddenly accelerated and a bunch of midgets wearing TF2 hats jumped out from the back. A 30 second melee encounter ensued which resulted in me being knocked unconscious. I woke up in a dimly lit rim with nothing but a table and a bag of M&Ms in the corner. As I rose to my feet. I heard a voice booming out of a loud speaker, "Sign the contract and the M&Ms will be yours..." I thought to myself, The M&Ms are already.. they're sitting right there in the corner.. That's a terrible deal.. I just grabbed the M&Ms and started munching down cuz I was tired and hungry, as I'm about to pop the first M&M in my mouth, thoes damn midgets come out of nowhere and proceed to attack me.. I eventually surrended the M&Ms and signed the damn contract cuz I had enough of getting beat by midgets for one lifetime...
I've been playing games since The Commodore 64 games so I've had a lot of games under my belt. Some of my favourite ones are: -Ultima 7 -Fallout -Wizardry series -Doom / Quake series -Duke Nukem ( loved the co-op ) ! -Battlefield 1942 -Deus Ex -Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Thanks for stopping by... appreciate your comments. In future, I'm not terribly interested in what gets you wet, but thank you for letting me know.. I think TI is still in its early stages of E-Sports potential. I feel the dogs with the way they are now add a predictable element to the gameplay and I'm hopeful they can find their way into E-Sports matches.. The same can be said for the other things such as grenades, rappelling..I feel these elements are all very predictable and not overly abused. If they are, then we can tweak them...
Yea, I loved cs_siege. It had some wonderful firefights. There's not much I would change to it aside from moving the hostages a little closer out as it was quite a long way to escort them from their capture point to the CT rescue zone..
Hi Scypher, I was actually not involved in CS after 1.0. So I can't really comment on the changes that occurred after 1.0 as I was busy working on other stuff at Valve. TBH, I felt the game had reached its course in terms of features and functionality after CS 1.5 and I wasn't really keen on stirring the pot. I was too busy trying to R&D a new CS project that would have new features and gameplay that I didn't get the chance to add to CS 1.0 Oops. forgot to answe the rest. 2- Not that I can recall. I believe all the guns that we planned on adding were in fact added. I think the one item that did get nixed was the shield.. because of balance issues. 3- With TI, I felt there was some room for innovation in the Tactical FPS genre. I really wanted to explore new game mechanics and try to see if there's things we could to do encourage more team play in a round based scenario.
Sorry, I got side tracked there, getting back to your question of what I think of CS:GO. I think it's really well polished and wonderfully balanced levels. I envy the amount of man power they have to deliver such a polished product..
I LOVED working with the Action Quake Team on AQ2. They were a great bunch of guys and we were all on the same page in terms of what direction the game would go. I had some great memories from that time, unfortunately, I have not kept in touch with any of them :(
It's a close call but I got more satisfaction out of working on CS. I had pretty much full reign over how the game was developed and my relationship with Cliffe was really symbiotic. We each had our own roles and he was able to leverage the community so well and was a big reason why we had such a strong community.
Not tooo much. Prolly not as much pressure as I felt at Valve trying to come up with CS2. I left the CS franchise so I could explore new game mechanics a bit easier without having to restrict myself to the CS fan base. I think as the CS community matured they grew accustomed to certain game mechanics and as the leagues formed, it was hard to introduce new changes to CS. When I worked on TI, I didn't have that environment so it was a bit more relaxed in terms of what I could experiment with gameplay wise.
Right now, I'm driving my parents '97 Toyota Camry. It's a gas guzzler since it's a V6 but it's great when I need to merge into lanes as it has a fair amount of spunk.
I used to be pretty good at CS back in the day. I would generally get in the top 3 Kills/Death Ratio whenever I played on public servers. I played with my mates though so that helped a lot. CS is one of those games that reward teamwork.
Funny story, Cliffe was in college at the time and every time he recorded the dying sounds, it sounded like he was climaxing. I think he was embarassed by it but I told him I needed them, so please record 100 more variations...
I do keep in touch with Cliffe and some of the others at Valve. They've been really supportive and have gone above and beyond to help me get TI to where it is. They've always given me special treatment with regards to tech support and that sort of stuff. I'm fortunate to have their backing..
I haven't really heard much about their thoughts on TI. TBH, I haven't really asked anyone at Valve on their thoughts on TI.
I was really happy about it and it gave me confidence that I could work on another project. To be fair though, most of the success of CS was attributed to the community. All the levels were done by the community and I feel good levels play a fundamental role in the success of your game. Being able to harness the creativity of such a large group of talent paid huge dividends in the success of CS.
I think Valve are in a very difficult position in trying to please the old school CS players while also trying to innovate and push the CS franchise forward. It's not something I really have an answer to nor do I feel I could do it any better. If anything, I'd prolly be a bit more polarizing in my game design decisions.
While I was working at Valve, I remember the reaction I had when CS:Source was released. A lot of us were anticipating all the CS 1.6 players would migrate over to CS:Source but what happened was very surprising to me. I wasn't expecting CS 1.6 players to be so picky about the slight changes that in CS:Source.
TBH, I really don't know how Valve can better tackle the problem of pushing the CS franchise forward without abandoning some of the old school CS 1.6 players..
The BETA Testing for TI went as well as I could hope for it to go considering the length of it. I'm glad you're enjoying it and we're continually working on new updates for it. Right now, I'm working on a new map and my co-workers are doing likewise. We also plan on polishing and streamlining a lot of other things that we feel are a bit rough around the edges.
I wish I could slide astros your way, but unfortunately my astro sliding abilities are about as non-existant as my Egyptian Belly Dancing skills.
Yes, please feel free to suggest TI on our Facebook page.. or my twitter account #TIGooseman.
It's been great working with OGP. They're doing the best they can to promote TI and working with the community to see what changes need to be made to make the game have lasting appeal.
2) I wasn't involved in the map development of CS at all. If I rememer correctly, the most I ever did was tell David Johnston (the guy behind de_dust) that his map was too yellow.. thank god he ignored my suggestion. I liked cs_siege / cs_facility / cs_assault / de_dust / cs_747.
1). I didn't follow the competitive scene much at all.. It really is a full time job developing a game and finding time to even play it is a challenge. Keeping up with the competitive scene can be a full time job in and of itself. 3) Yea, I think de_ modes are definitely the most conducive to team play as they naturally encouraged team cohesion. I think Escape scenario failed because it encouraged teams to avoid getting in a firefight. Assasination was fun and I think with better maps and a bit more tweaking of the game mode, It could be more succesful.
I would recommend finding a dedicated community liason person to handle gathering community feedback and relaying information from the dev team to the community. Having someone who specializes in just doing this will allow you to focus on making the game, while still giving your player base an efficient way to communicate with you.
I suggest you to keep engaged with your playerbase as much as you can. It will be difficult at times listening to people constantly complain about your game but in time, you will learn to filter out what is important and what is purely subjective suggestions. Also, if you can get your community involved in the content creation process (whether through making models or maps), you will save A LOT of time and it will help your game grow even faster.
Oh, one more piece of advice.. be VERY careful when dealing with business people and corporations. They will ALWAYS act in their best interests and a lot of times those interests can conflict with your interests. Making games for fun is 1 thing, but making games for a living and trying to navigate the business side of the industry can be very very tricky.
Sorry for that. My baking skills are about as non-existent as my Egyptian Belly Dancing skills... Fear not, we're continually trying to polish it up and I can assure you it will get better from here on out. Truth be told, we're horribly undersized team and it was really do or die time in terms of getting the game out. Character skins are permanent. With regards to having permanent guns. That's a decision that needs to be made by OGP and our development team at FixKorea. I can say, that this is something we're currently evaluating and maybe in future, we can do perm guns.. I can't say for sure right now.
Playing a map in the dark? What you talking about Willis?
No expectations for CS. It was just a mod that started out as something I felt like I wanted to do after working on similar mods in the past. I'm really happy with how CS has evolved and all of that is due to how Valve has taken it. They're a really great company that makes smart business decisions that appeal to the target audience.
I think CSS and CSGO are an indication of that smart decision making.
No regrets whatsoever. Valve did A LOT to bring CS to where it is. They took a fairly rough game and polished it up and put in the marketing and promotion to make it a household name. No way in hell could CS become what it is today without their strength.
I just read about it just now and it's very interesting. I can't really comment too much on it as I'm not really familiar with ESEA or Bitcoin Mining.
I will say that I've met a lot of people in this industry who won't given a second thought to do such morally corrupt things such as this. It doesn't surprise me that someone decided to abuse their power for their own financial gain. It's easy to do such things when you don't see the faces of your victims or the consequences of your actions.
Haha, yea.. certain bugs were in fact left because people got so used to them and were forming tactics around them. It's kind of embarassing from a developer standpoint but I guess whatever keeps the masses happy is a good thing.
Yes, make sure you do what you do for the love of doing it. Don't think about the end goal. Think about the happiness it brings you on a day to day basis. If you really love making games, you need not care about where it will take you. Try to focus on delivering a product that will make yourself happy first.. and chances are, you'll make someone else happy with that product.
If you want to get started in making games, it's not an easy road as there's sooo much information out there and it's hard to decide where to look. I do recommend game schools as they're a very focus place where you can hone your skills in a very efficient manner. If you're really daring you can pick up a book from your bookstore and try some of the tutorials in those books.
The important part is to take it step by step and find enjoyment in the smaller accomplishments you make. It took me 2 months to make my first model and that was the stepping stone to making my first mod (which eventually took another 2 years). I never would have made it that far if I wasn't so thrilled about the process of making models and making those models come to life through programming.
I did however work on Day of Defeat: Source while I was at Valve. I made most of the weapon animations for DoD:Source I also made some models.. like the bag of potatoes you see in one of the levels.. and a frying pan..
Thanks man! I'm most proud of the community that CS has spawned.. The players, the people making levels, mods, guns, and all that. I've met so many of them and they've offered to help me out (but never offering what I really need which IS MONEY!!!) hahaha no really.. It's great to be involved in CS and see it spawn so much creativity in the world.
It is easy to focus on the awkward, but that really is a tiny portion of the people I meet personally. I myself am SUPER socially awkward but after meeting people at various events for the past ten years I've gotten better at it.
The secret I've discovered is, if someone is uncomfortable and doesn't want to talk, I do the talking for both of us. I begin sort of asking myself questions I get frequently and then answering them. It is the easiest way to help make someone comfortable since I basically can jump start the conversation. We do keep an eye on the /RoosterTeeth subreddit and any time we spot information that is way off base or incorrect, we step in and correct folks.
Not having complete privacy is just one of those things you have to deal with, but sometimes it does get weird. One time Gus and I were at Dragoncon and I noticed a group of people looking at pics of me on their computer. They had taken paparazzi-type snapshots of me with a long lens while I was walking into the bathroom (but not going to the bathroom thankfully). That was one of those moments I realized we should probably start being careful about privacy. Now that several of us have kids it's definitely something you think about because you don't want it to affect their lives. - Matt When I got divorced two years ago, the only reason I didn't talk about it was because my ex could not respond to anything I said on the same level. She doesn't have a podcast with 3M listeners or a YouTube channel with 2B views. With two kids, it's very important to not imbalance that relationship, especially at a volatile time like that. Everyone is different when it comes to privacy. I actually care a little less than most people I think, but I did get skeeved when Reddit posted my old home address (don't bother looking I don't live there anymore). FYI, that's why I said some people in the subreddit were weird. All that being said, there are certainly people in life that I follow and their personal lives are interesting to me. So I understand the trade off. But don't be fooled -- social media is not personal lives. People will cherry pick the best moments of their lives and present them on Twitter and Facebook. They even polish them to look a little better. Don't get too wrapped up in other people's lives and compare yours to theirs. We all have our own joy & sadness, our share of heartbreaks & happiness. Only one-half those moments tend to make it onto a Facebook wall.
I stepped down on April 1, 2012 after nine years as CEO. Matt was the best choice for the job.
It's very easy to sit in place and hold on to titles and protect your domain, but if you want to run a succesful business you have to be objective. Sometimes changes need to be made even if the thing that needs to be changed is you.
Best explanation -- the guy who took us from one person to forty people is not the guy that is best equipped to take us from forty people to five hundred people.
A lot of things have changed under Matt but one thing remains the same -- each year is our best year. The company is stronger than ever thanks to him.
Working for Rooster Teeth was something I never imagined would happen, so the first few days were a bit surreal. It didn't take long for it to feel like home, though. I've never worked at a job where it felt like a second family until I came to RT.
I didn't have a job before working here so I figured all workplaces are like this.
My first week at Rooster Teeth was extremely different from my last job. I came from a corporate environment so immediately things were much more laid back in the RT office. The best thing though, was how welcoming everyone was. Everyone here was so nice and welcoming which was great having come from another city. And of course there's always tons of laughs at any given moment.
Terrifying. Every day, I anticipated fucking up and getting fired. It was just incredibly overwhelming. There I was, some college kid/gamestop employee sitting next to a bunch of professionals. Literally every person at Rooster Teeth is here because they excel at something, whether it be writing, editing, cinematography, etc. I simply felt like I wasn't worthy... and to be honest, I still can't believe I'm still here.
Oh, and working at Gamestop was pretty bleh. Know your alphabet and sell magazines. "Thank you for calling Gamestop, where we buy and sell used games! This is Miles! How can I help you!?"
You may be surprised, but this doesn't upset me one bit. Something I learned REALLY early on by having a strong online presence is that people on the internet don't treat you as they would in real life, and you can't take anything to heart.
"Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" is a way I've always lived my life, so I'm never bothered by negative/creepy comments, because I know that there are people who support me, and that's what I pay attention to. The love I receive from the RT Community is something I wouldn't trade for the world, and some gross/mean comment isn't going to make me forget that.
I was convinced this project wouldn't last. I refused to buy a car or even rent a decent apartment because I knew at any moment this would all end and I'd be on the street. I'd say to myself "go ahead and get a decent car, getting stranded on the side of the road every other day isn't worth it."
We wanted to do our own event for years (we used to want it to be purely internet based and call it dot com con). I'm pleased with the expansion but I wish we were even bigger. I can't wait to fill out the Austin Convention Center. RvB passed my wildest expectations about four weeks in. Everything after that has been experienced with a healthy mixture of gratitude and disbelief. Writing influences are hard to pin down. The movie Dark Star was a major early influence. After that, Lost was a weird influence in that I felt it was turning the sci-fi genre into mystery and I was determined to fight that.
No huge regrets really, but I do wish we had started doing live action content sooner. There are plenty of other projects like that we haven't had time to get to and it's always tough to find the balance between developing new content and making sure the current shows maintain their quality and consistency. - Matt That show was Break Room. We did an concept piece for it waaayyy back in 2007. You can probably find a clip of it somewhere. It's mothballed for now but may revive if we get to a point where it won't look retroactively derivative of Wreck It Ralph.
I actually tried to post the Kiniectiamals...kinitiamals...the cinnamon attack bear video on here. it was my only post here ever. I did it 30min after we released the video. Someone else has already posted it and I only got 1 up vote. It was like high school all over again. very depressing, haven't been back to reddit since then.
Awesome. I got to work with him once before on a movie called The Faculty and I remembered him being a very cool guy. That was before LOTR, and even with all that success he's still totally down to earth and easy to work with. He nailed literally every single take for RvB first try. - Matt.
He's an absolutle legend and we were very lucky to have him in the cast of Season 10. You should all go follow him on his twitter account: @woodelijah.
I got to talk to him at RTX briefly. I got my first boner that day.
It's a sad fact, but we all need to realize that not everyone at Rooster Teeth can be in every production. It's just not possible. I had a lot of fun on some of the early Let's Plays (before they were called that) but when it's time to pick what I want to work on, I like to focus on narrative content (like RvB) and over-the-top live action shows (like Immersion and the podcast).
I was really bummed just last week when I had to be in Atlanta and could not participate in a really awesome live action shoot here in Austin. But I was in Atlanta for Immersion and the 10th anniversary live stream. So, I can't really feel bad about that. You just have to choose what you want to work on. --Burnie.
My kids think I "rooster teeth" all day. They use it as a verb. I get home and they ask, "daddy, did you rooster teeth today?" And I say, sure did and it was awesome. I'm hoping they don't ever learn what "rooster teeth" is a euphemism for. - Matt.
YES! Working on our mobile presence is super high priority right now. We want to fix our iOS presence and make something for the Android market as well. It is on the roadmap of stuff to get to, we just have to finish up some other things first.
There are a bunch, most of them involving the community. I will still say that entering the ballroom for the first RTX and being almost physically overwhelmed by the energy and enthusiasm of that audience is something I will never forget. Also seeing Gus naked so many times is burned in memory too, but I'm wishing I could forget that. - Matt.
We have one new episode in the can. That will be a "between season" episode of the show. We are giving the TV networks a few more weeks to look at Immersion before we go forward there or take it off the table and makes Season 2 for the web.
Yeah, we will be filming a new intro for the podcast which will incorporate the listener submitted theme songs. Brandon said he wants to film the intros next week, but I don't know if we'll have the time. It is a priority and we hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks.
Sometimes the work hours are really tiring and stressful. During our location shoot earlier this week I was incredibly ill. In fact I was so sick that I was laying on the ground trying to sleep and whenever I needed to be on camera I would load up on cold medicine and try not to hack up a lung. When you have limited time to accomplish a shoot you don't have the luxury of taking a day off.
The rollout of Adobe's Flash video codec really changed the way video is delivered on the web. It reduced our server costs by 2/3 overnight. And within a year we went from PAYING to host our own videos to being paid to do it.
I hope RWBY can do many things, the most important having people be able to identify with the many characters in the story. There will definitely be someone for everyone. I think that any art or writing can be good so long it resonates with a truth that the viewer can relate to.
Speaking personally, I love to see the enthusiasm that the Tumblr community has for RT and the people at RT. We don't really have a use for Tumblr for our own stuff, but we definitely recognize it as a great outlet for awesome community content.
This one we just shot was really fun, but probably my favorite Immersion shoots were the Video Game Car and Zombie Horde. The RTX attendees did a fantastic job on the horde video and every one was in such great spirits it felt like a big party. The video game car one was great because we were just figuring everything out and that discovery process is always fun. Plus we all had time at the end to actually drive the car and it was a blast. Little known fact - I had the fastest time around the track. I still suck at non-real life games. - Matt.
The highlight of my "career" (I guess technically it was when I started at RT) was the day it was announced that I was hired. I have never experienced such an out-pour of love, support, and kind words from so many people at once. It's a day I will remember for the rest of my life.
I think I laughed the most when we were filming the short where Burnie steals Gus's beard. I literally had to hit record and leave the room for all of Burnie's dialog because I kept laughing out loud through every take. - Matt.
